Yesterday at church, our pastor gave us these seven styles of praise that is referenced in the Bible. He was encouraging us to start worshipping God how the Bible tells us to and not hold back. We all have had those moments in a public worship setting that feels awkward and we remain silent or inhibited. God inhabits our praises and we must learn to give him all that he deserves. Let’s look at each of these and lean in when we are given the opportunity to praise.
Sometimes we allow our self consciousness, fear, anxiety, or problems weigh down the praise that needs to escape our Spirit! The Spirit knows the goodness of God and his great love despite, what we are experiencing in the natural. Do not worry about who is watching close your eyes, forget about the problems and lift up a praise to the heavens! GOD ALONE IS WORTHY! Your problems are quite small to a God that set an entire universe in motion!

- Halal: (Root word of hallelujah) This is what worship leaders often reference to as “crazy praise”! This is the exact opposite of being muzzled and quiet its wild, foolishly loud praise! You are fully embedded in the moment without fear of those around you!
- Yadah:To raise your hands up to without fear God. “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you:” Psalm 22:22 ESV
Something about lifting my hands always makes me think of how my kids lift their arms up to me for me to hold them, or carry them. - Barack/Barouch:Bless by kneeling or bowing. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” EVERYTHING is under the GOD of all! Nothing is too big for him or too hard. We show our submission to live under his shadow and leading.
Psalm 91:1 ESV. “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.”
Psalm 57:1 ESV - Zamar: Making a joyful noise unto the Lord with musical instruments. “Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.”
Psalm 33:2-3 ESV - Shabach: Shout, lift up your voice to praise God with all of your might. “These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.”
Psalm 42:4 ESV David is feeling great sorrow and in this sorrow he is reminding himself of the times he was going to church and worshipping God loudly and proudly! Sometimes in the dark moments we must remind ourselves of the former joy! Your joy will return! - Tehilah: Exuberant singing, and singing whatever praise comes to mind as we give over to the Holy Spirit. “Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!”
Psalm 98:4 ESV - Towdah:Lifting up hands in expectation to God. A sacrificial praise, when we haven’t received the promise yet! Faith in advance, praising him for answered prayers. Future faith. “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
Psalm 100:4 ESV
Now as King David would say PRAISE THE LORD! Give God your all, take a moment to get comfortable and use your body to praise and worship. I guarantee whatever you are worried about will leave you, and your heart’s posture will be changed. We can go from worry, fear, and anxiety to victory, surrender, hope, expectancy, deliverance, and joy!

May this year be blessed and full of praise, repentance, love, healing, peace, joy and faithfulness! Praise your wonderful creator today!
